Dirt bike rider killed after hitting deer, WNEM, May 3, 2018Deputies report the 22-year-old Benjamin Maxfield from Sandusky was riding a 2017 Yamaha dirt bike when he collided with a deer that ran into the roadway, causing him to lose control and lay the bike on its side. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

2nd accident- Detective Ecker said the car was being driven in a southerly direction by Jalmar Sambrano of East Hampton, Ms. Castro’s brother, when a group of deer appeared on the side of the road. He spotted them and started to slow down, police said, when one of the deer ran in his path. He then stepped on the brakes but lost control of the vehicle, police said. The car skidded off the road and into the woods, striking a tree, just south of Edwards Hole Road. Ms. Castro, seated on the passenger’s side of the car, seemed to take the brunt of the impact, Detective Ecker said, and she was found thrown partially from the car. Her door had opened at the moment of contact.
