New Deer-Vehicle Report out

The 2013 Deer-Vehicle Reports are out.

Washtenaw County is 4th in the state- after Oakland, Jackson, and Kent counties for deer-vehicle collisions– DVCs.

In the REPORTED MOTOR VEHICLE-DEER CRASHES BY COUNTY IN MICHIGAN report, for the state, Washtenaw County had 1059 reported accidents, 772 of them happening on local streets.

Of the Washtenaw County statistics: In 2013, Ann Arbor had 50 reported crashes, Ann Arbor Twp showed 72, Scio Twp reported 121 and Superior Twp had 77.

As a result of vehicle-deer crashes, 1,212 people were injured and 12 people were killed. Seven (58.3%) of those killed were motorcyclists.
